Cold Laser Therapy
Is your pet in pain? Laser therapy can help! We are pleased to offer this new service for our house call clients.
Laser therapy is a holistic, non-invasive treatment which involves application of a coherent light to an area of the body which is inflamed, infected, or painful.
What conditions can the laser treat?
Arthritis, Intervertebral Disc Disease, Cranial Cruciate Ligament Injury, Hip Dysplasia, Acute and Chronic Ear Infections, Skin Conditions including Hot Spots and Acral Lick Granulomas, Anal Glands, Degenerative Joint Disease, Soft Tissue Injuries (and More!)
How does laser therapy work?
Photobiomodulation changes the course of disease by stimulating the cells to reduce inflammation, increase microcirculation, and relieve pain. The laser even has antimicrobial effects. Thus, all four stages of healing are positively influenced, and tissue repair is accelerated.
How long will each treatment take?
The average treatment takes between two and ten minutes, but it varies with the condition. Acute conditions take longer as do pets with multiple areas to treat.
What will my pet feel during the laser treatment?
The laser delivers a painless application of light. Most pets feel nothing at all, but minimally a very slight tingling.
How many treatments will my pet need?
The number of treatments will vary with the condition, but most owners notice a significant difference within three to five treatments.
Are the results guaranteed?
While we can’t guarantee the results for every patient, laser therapy has been proven to be effective in clinical studies and in rehab settings in both human and veterinary medicine. There are over thirty years of research which supports the efficacy of this holistic treatment.
