Blood tests allow us to monitor organ function, electrolyte and hormone balance, blood sugar levels, and a host of other important health parameters.
If your pet is sick, Dr. Nulton will provide recommendations as to which specific tests would be helpful in making the diagnosis.
You can be proactive in maintaining your older pets’ health by having us perform a basic chemistry analysis and complete blood count annually. This is recommended for dogs and cats over the age of 7 years. The sooner we can detect a problem, the better we can manage it.
Pets undergoing anesthesia should have blood tests done in advance to make sure the liver and kidneys are working well, and there are no bleeding tendencies. We can take the blood sample right in your own home. Most test results are back within 24-36 hours. Back to Services
