Your cat may not prefer what you prefer in terms of cat litter. Most cats will choose unscented over scented litter. Finer “sand-like” clumping litters are also more popular. You can experiment with different substrates (remember every household should have at least two litter boxes depending on how many cats you have). You will know your cat likes the substrate if he or she buries the stool. If your cat avoids one litter box over another, consider changing the box, the location, or the litter itself. Always remember to keep all litter boxes clean!
