Increased blood flow can indicate inflammation, infection, malignancy, or secondary compensation.
Decreased blood flow can indicate neurological damage, vasoconstriction, infarction, or atrophy.
The patient is his or her own control.
We review the images for unexpected hot or cold areas and use the information to direct our treatment or employ further diagnostic imaging.
