Riley was 14 years old on March 1, 2011.  He is not sure if he is a dog or a human???? One of the most affectionate, friendly felines you could ever meet and has a couple of quirks.  First off, he does not like to drink water from a bowl.  He drinks water (preferably with an ice cube) from a glass that sits on the coffee table.  Sometimes he “bellys” up to the table on his hind paws and drinks or sometimes he’ll just jump up and drink the old fashioned cat way.  He also does not like to eat alone, for breakfast and dinner either I or his pappy must stay in the kitchen with him while he eats.  If we stray away, he’ll be right behind us meowing to let us know he wants our company while he completes his meal.  He has also become quite a hit in our apartment complex.  We take Riley out daily without a leash and he follows us around the complex.  Our neighbors are amazed at how obedient he is and never thinks of running away but rather just walks with us for his daily exercise, or lies down on the grass when we are sitting on the bench.  When they see him – they say “Oh there’s Riley! How is he today?”  This picture was taken in Southold LI where we are vacationing this week.  We love him to death and can’t decide if he’s our cat or our son 🙂
