November Pet of the Month-Henry
November’s Pet of the Month is Henry. Henry is currently up for adoption through The American Street Cat, Inc.
2-year-old Henry was once a popular deli cat, but when the deli came under new ownership, he was neglected by the staff. Like most cats with the means to leave an unhappy situation, Henry would disappear from the deli to hang out with a nearby colony that is socialized and well fed by the caretakers.
Henry would typically return to the deli, but his latest disappearance lasted two months. We found him quite nearby with multiple, fresh puncture wounds, presumably from a dog bite. He was immediately treated and placed in foster care, where his wounds have healed nicely and his hair is growing back.
After 5 weeks, Henry was tested for FeLV/FIV and the results are negative. He is neutered and fully vaccinated. Henry is very social and is doing well as a single cat, but he’s accepting of other cats, too.
